MARIO CADER-FRECH VICE PRESIDENT PUBLIC AFFAIRS & CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY MTV NETWORKS LATIN AMERICA & TR3S Mario Cader-Frech is currently the Vice President Public Affairs & Corporate Social Responsibility for MTV Networks Latin America and Tr3s: MTV Música y Mas. Cader-Frech was born in El Salvador and completed his graduate studies in International Affairs at Georgetown University. He worked as assistant Director of U.S. Hispanic Marketing and Advertising at MCI Telecommunications, then moving on to become the Regional Marketing and Advertising Manager for Sprint International for Latin America. Mr. Cader-Frech oversees the development and implementation of public affairs and corporate responsibility initiatives across the company’s brands, having established MTVNLA’s Public Affairs division and launching its first multi-platform pro-social campaign, “MTV GRITA: Sex Tú Mismo,” a sexual health campaign for youth in Latin America. Under his leadership, MTV Latin America also took on the challenge of raising awareness about the importance of the youth vote in Mexico’s 2006 presidential election with the “We Are 30 Million Strong” campaign. Through this initiative, MTV Latin America was the only media outlet in Mexico to secure the unprecedented participation of all five presidential candidates in a series of candid interviews with youth at MTV’s studios in Mexico. Presently, he is overseeing “MTV Agentes de Cambio,” a campaign launched in 2007 through a partnership with the InterAmerican Development Bank and the government of Finland, designed to showcase young people throughout the region who are making a positive difference in their communities. Cader-Frech is also responsible for launching Nickelodeon Latin America’s “MAS VERDE” campaign in collaboration with UNICEF, with NICK’s very own animated character “Verdito” addressing climate change, healthy lifestyles, and positive attitudes. Cader-Frech often represents the Network at conferences and seminars, such as: The Organization of American States Summit, InterAmerican Development Bank Annual Meeting, Ibero American Presidential Summit, and various United Nations General Assemblies. As of 2010, Mr. Cader-Frech also oversees public affairs for Tr3s: MTV, Música y Mas, MTV Networks’ channel dedicated to bilingual and bicultural Latinos in the United States. The channel recently launched “Tr3s Agents of Change”, the US version of the successful Latin America campaign. Cader-Frech left Corporate America to create a line of Aromatherapy skin care, and after seven years, he sold his business and decided to spend his time in humanitarian causes, creating the Latin American Cultural Space in Washington, DC and becoming Minister of Cultural Affairs at the Embassy of El Salvador. Cader-Frech serves on numerous boards including the Museum of Contemporary Art of Miami, the Youth Orchestra of the Americas, and the Many Hats Institute. Cader-Frech currently serves as Honorary Consul of El Salvador in the United States and has received prestigious awards such as Distinguished Salvadoran and a Ten Year recognition from the National Gallery of Art.
